Zach’s cinematic storytelling spans 75 countries earning him 3 Primetime Emmy Awards and 8 nominations, a Peabody Award, 2 IDA Best Episodic Series nominations, a Critics Choice nomination, and a feature film showcased in the Narrative Spotlight at SXSW. With a proven track record, he continues to deliver content that resonates.
Zach recently directed and produced the high-concept feature documentary Madwoman’s Game, backed by executive producers Keanu Reeves and Michael Sugar. After writing and developing the format, doubling as series pilot, he led a nimble, world-class team of filmmakers across three countries and three languages to craft a mesmerizing story about chess poised to captivate global audiences. The film’s world premier is at Miami Film Festival.
In television, Zach served as showrunner for Building Italy, the adventurous six-episode, one-hour series for Magnolia/Warner Bros. Zach wrote and developed the project, then led the team through prep, filming, and post-production. The project united an Italian construction crew with a family from Maine to renovate a home on a tight budget and timeline, delivering stellar viewership and a Critics’ Choice Award nomination. 
With over 130 premium nonfiction episodes for top platforms, Zach excels in high-stakes, fast-paced environments delivering authentic, visually stunning content on tight budgets and schedules. His years alongside Anthony Bourdain, shaped his approach: small, agile teams that move fast and far while balancing authenticity with cinematic vision.
